BBL to merge with BYB

Welcome to the Brunswick Baseball League

About Our Club

At the last Brunswick Youth Baseball meeting held in January 2022,  The BYB board agreed to merge with the Brunswick Baseball League - The BYB board will take full control of all operations of BBL. The Brunswick Baseball League was originally established as an Independent baseball league over 45 years ago.  The league was known as the Brunswick Independent Baseball League.  Home field was an old corn field located on State Rte 2, which was donated by a local farmer to the Town of Brunswick.  In 1984, the League incorporated and began an affiliation with Babe Ruth Baseball.  The league officially changed it's name to the Brunswick Babe Ruth League and for the next 25 years, continued to play games at the Rte 2 field.  In 2009, Brunswick was advised by Babe Ruth, that it's boundaries would be changed and that some players who were playing ball at Brunswick Little League would no longer be eligible to play for Brunswick Babe Ruth.  The board found this arbitrary change to be unacceptable and unanimously voted to remove it's affiliation with Babe Ruth Baseball and return the league to an independent organization.  The league once again changed it's name, to reflect the change in affiliation and in 2009, became known as the Brunswick Baseball League.

The Brunswick Baseball League  offered both House and Travel programs for players ages 9 to 28 until Janauary of 2022.  The Travel program was affiliated with the Eastern New York Travel Baseball League (ENYTB) and sponsored travel teams for players ages 9 to 19.  Travel teams were drafted by a manager and play games throughout the Capital District. The travel season ran from Memorial Day weekend to the end of July.  Brunswick's House program was divided into two divisions,  Minors (13-16) and  Majors (17-28).  House games were played at the Brunswick Sports Complex located on State Rte 2. The House program played a 12 game schedule, exclusive of a play-off tournament and a championship game.  In 2015, the board initiated inter-league play with the Twin Town Little League and games are played at both Brunswick and North Greenbush.  As of 2022 - all operations will be under the control of Brunswick Youth Baseball.
